Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
Acceptance
By using Tooo (including personal remote-control mode and Tooo Lab managed school mode), you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The Service
Tooo is operated by SafeX Inc. and offers two usage modes:
- Personal remote-control mode: peer-to-peer remote control and screen sharing between your own macOS / Android / Windows / Linux devices.
- Tooo Lab managed school mode: classroom monitoring, content filtering, smart-card login, and archive system for school-owned, MDM-managed macOS lab devices. School administrators sign on behalf of the school and are responsible for staff and student use.
Eligibility
- Personal mode: age 13 or older, or accompanied by a legal guardian.
- Lab managed school mode: configured by authorized school administrators; students and parents use it under the school's Acceptable Use Policy and notice, and do not contract directly with SafeX.
- You must comply with the laws of your jurisdiction and may not use the service in regions where it is prohibited.
Accounts and Identity
- Lab administrator, teacher, and parent sign-in is provided by KeyLockr SafeID. You are responsible for protecting your KeyLockr credentials; SafeX does not store your KeyLockr keys.
- Students in Lab mode do not sign into the website directly; student identity is established by the school roster plus a student smart card (NFC / contact) and a session created in Tooo.app on the managed macOS device.
- You must keep critical contact information up to date and are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
Acceptable Use
When using Tooo, you agree not to:
- Remotely control, monitor, or read data from devices without the explicit authorization of the device owner. Lab mode may be used only on school-owned devices.
- Bypass or disable school MDM, Tooo Lab monitoring, filtering, or audit mechanisms.
- Collect, store, or share minors' personal data beyond the scope authorized by the school AUP and guardian notice.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, sniff, or attempt to obtain source code, keys, or other users' data from the service.
- Distribute malware, conduct DDoS, credential stuffing, unauthorized penetration testing, or otherwise disrupt the network infrastructure.
- Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, discriminatory, or rights-infringing activities.
- Repackage or resell Tooo Lab as your own monitoring product.
School Administrator Obligations
Schools deploying Tooo Lab managed school mode must:
- Provide a clear AUP and notice to students and guardians before enabling monitoring, filtering, or archiving, and obtain any legal authority required by local law (including COPPA, FERPA, GDPR, PIPL, and similar regimes).
- Deploy Tooo Lab only on school-owned devices managed by the school's MDM.
- Maintain the accuracy of roster, permission grants, and parent bindings; promptly revoke access for departed staff or students.
- Configure reasonable archive retention windows and not use Tooo Lab to circumvent retention limits set by the school's jurisdiction.
- Not use managed school mode to monitor non-school contexts (e.g., a teacher's personal device or a home device).
Third-Party Services
- KeyLockr is the SafeID identity provider; your relationship with KeyLockr is governed by its own terms.
- Apple, Google, Microsoft, Mozilla and browser extension stores: extension distribution and updates are governed by their respective store terms.
- MDM vendors (Jamf, Mosyle, Microsoft Intune, etc.): the school's contract with its MDM vendor applies separately; SafeX is not responsible for MDM platform availability.
- Optional AI analysis or archive providers: invoked only when a school explicitly enables them and are governed by that provider's terms.
Intellectual Property
The Tooo applications, backend, web admin console, browser extensions, documentation, and trademarks are owned by SafeX Inc. or its licensors. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use them for personal or school use within the scope of these Terms. Unless otherwise authorized in writing, you may not copy, modify, publish, or create derivative works.
Fees and Subscriptions
Personal remote-control mode is currently provided free of charge; SafeX reserves the right to change its pricing policy with notice before the change takes effect. Tooo Lab managed school mode is a paid subscription whose pricing, billing cycle, and refund policy are governed by the school's subscription agreement or quote; in case of conflict, the subscription agreement controls.
Changes to the Service
SafeX may add, modify, or remove features to improve security, compliance, or product experience. Material changes to Lab managed school mode will be communicated before they take effect, through the Web admin console, email, or the school administrator contact.
Suspension and Termination
- You may stop using the service at any time and uninstall by deleting Tooo.app and removing the MDM profile.
- SafeX may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, jeopardize platform security, or are no longer legally authorized to use the service. No refunds are provided for material violations.
- Upon termination, obligations under these Terms (such as use restrictions, indemnification, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) survive.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafeX disclaims all express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafeX and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages (including loss of data, lost profits, business interruption). Aggregate liability shall not exceed the lesser of (a) the amounts you actually paid SafeX for the relevant service in the preceding 12 months, or (b) USD 100.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SafeX, its affiliates, employees, and suppliers from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of third-party rights. School administrators are responsible for the compliance of all users within their school.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at SafeX Inc.'s principal place of business, excluding its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes arising from the service shall first be addressed by good-faith negotiation; failing that, they shall be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction at that location.
Changes to These Terms
SafeX may update these Terms from time to time. Material updates will be reflected in the date at the top of this page and communicated through the Web admin console or email. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
